MISCELLANEOUS DRIVING RULES

10.25.010 One-way street and alleys.
There are hereby established the following one-way street(s) and alley(s):
Linville Avenue shall be one way heading east from Lucas Street to Peters Street. Appropriate signage shall be erected. [Ord. 2004-27. Prior code Title 7, Ch. 2, Art. 5, § 1]
10.25.020 Fire hoses.
No vehicle shall be driven over any unprotected hose of a fire department when laid down on any street or private driveway, to be used at any fire or alarm of fire, without the consent of the fire department official in command. [Ord. 1985-04 § 9. Prior code Title 7, Ch. 2, Art. 8, § 1]
10.25.030 Funeral processions.
No driver of a vehicle shall drive between the vehicles comprising a funeral or other authorized procession while they are in motion and when such vehicles are conspicuously designated. This provision shall not apply at intersections where traffic is controlled by traffic-control signals or police officers. [Ord. 1985-04 § 9. Prior code Title 7, Ch. 2, Art. 8, § 2]
10.25.040 Backing.
The driver of a vehicle shall not back the same unless such movement can be made with reasonable safety and without interfering with other traffic. [Ord. 1985-04 § 9. Prior code Title 7, Ch. 2, Art. 8, § 3]
10.25.050 Towing other than motor vehicles.
Any person riding upon any bicycle, motorcycle, sled, coaster, roller skates, or any toy vehicles shall not attach the same or himself to any moving vehicle upon any roadway. [Ord. 1985-04 § 9. Prior code Title 7, Ch. 2, Art. 8, § 4]
10.25.060 Mufflers.
No person shall operate a motor vehicle in the town of Whitestown without an effective muffler properly installed on such motor vehicle, nor shall any vehicle be operated in said town upon which is installed or being used any motor [noise] muffler device which fails to suppress the motor exhaust noise to a level equal to or below the noise volume achieved by the muffler equipment specified by the manufacturer of such motor vehicle. 10.25.070 No passing zones.
A. There is hereby established the following no passing zone throughout the municipal boundaries of Whitestown:
There shall be no overtaking another motor vehicle traveling in the same direction on any street or alley within the municipal boundaries of Whitestown, Indiana; provided, however, that excepted from the provision of the foregoing are any law enforcement, fire apparatus and/or emergency medical vehicles in the performance of their official duties.
B. County Road 650 East between County Road 500 South and County Road 300 South shall be a no passing zone and a double yellow line shall be maintained identifying said no passing area.
Any violation of the posted speed limits or the no passing zone shall give rise to the applicable penalties and accumulation of points with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles as established in the existing Indiana Code and/or the local enforcement ordinances. 10.25.080 Driving across curb, sidewalk, or grass plot.
A. No person shall drive across a curb, sidewalk, or grass plot, except for on a driveway.
B. All persons shall exercise care not to break or damage the curbing, sidewalk, or grass plot when crossing the curbing, sidewalk, or grass plot at a driveway as permitted under subsection A of this section. [Ord. 2012-18 § 1(d). Prior code Title 7, Ch. 2, Art. 8, §§ 101, 102]
