ARTICLE IV. APPEARANCE TICKETS
82-80 Service of appearance tickets for violations of specific Code provisions.
(a) General. At the discretion of the chief of police, community service officers and police cadets assigned to the police department and supervised by the chief of police or his designee, when such officers and police cadets have reasonable cause to believe that an individual has violated provisions of:
Chapter 6—Advertising
Chapter 18—Animals
Chapter 26—Businesses
Chapter 58—Environment
Chapter 70—Health and Sanitation
Chapter 90—Parks and Recreation
Chapter 94—Solid Waste
Chapter 102—Streets, Sidewalks and Other Public Places
Chapter 122—Vegetation
of this Code, such officers and cadets are authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets to that individual.
(b) Other employees.
(1) Statutory authority. Act No. 366 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1984 (MCL 764.9c, MSA 28.868(3)) provides that a public servant other than a police officer who is specially authorized by ordinance may issue and serve appearance tickets for the violation of particular provisions of this Code.
(2) Mayoral designation. The mayor is hereby authorized to designate, in his discretion, particular city employees to issue appearance tickets in the enforcement of the following Code and ordinance provisions:

Chapter 26—Businesses
Chapter 58—Environment
Chapter 62—Fire Prevention and Protection
Chapter 90—Parks and Recreation
Chapter 94—Solid Waste
