ARTICLE II. OFFENSES AFFECTING GOVERNMENTAL FUNCTIONS
86-30 Misrepresentation as to identity.
No person shall make a misrepresentation as to his or her identity, whether by statement, through false, forged or altered identification, or the use or presentation of identification of another, in response to any lawful inquiry by a police officer discharging or attempting to discharge his or her official duties.

86-31 Resisting police officer or firefighter.
No person shall knowingly or willfully obstruct, hinder, resist or oppose any police officer or firefighter while discharging or attempting to discharge his duties.

86-32 Assaulting police officer or firefighter.
No person shall assault or attack any police officer or firefighter while in the performance of his duties.

86-33 Citizen’s duty to assist police officer.
It shall be the duty of all persons in the city when called upon by any police officer to promptly aid and assist him in the execution of his duties.

86-34 Impersonating an officer.
(a) No person, other than an official police officer of the city, shall wear or carry the uniform, apparel, badge, identification card or any other insignia of office like or similar to, or a colorable imitation of, that adopted and worn or carried by the police officers of the city.
(b) No person shall do or attempt any act to impersonate a police officer.

86-35 False reports or complaints to police department.
No person shall knowingly make or file or cause to be made or filed a false or misleading report, allegation or complaint with the police department.

86-36 Use of siren or whistle.
(a) No person, except members of the police department, fire department or ambulance services, shall ring, use or otherwise sound any gong, siren, whistle or any other device for making similar noise on any unauthorized vehicle and emitting sound audible under normal conditions for a distance in excess of 200 feet.
(b) This section shall not apply to burglary prevention devices.

86-37 Obstructing or interference with public safety officers.
(a) No person shall refuse to obey any reasonable order or rule by the officer commanding the fire department at a fire to assist in the extinguishment of a fire or to maintain order in the vicinity of such fire.
(b) During a riot or other civil emergency, no person shall hinder, obstruct, endanger or interfere with any person who is engaged in the operation, installation, repair or maintenance of any essential public service facility within the city, including any facility for the transmission of electricity, gas, telephone messages or water.

86-38 Use of police or fire call box; possession of key.
(a) No person shall open any signal box connected with the police or fire alarm system, except by the authority of and with the key furnished by the chief of police.
(b) No person shall have in his possession any signal box key without permission from the chief of police.

86-39 Interference with alarm system wires.
No person in any manner shall interfere with, damage, remove or displace the wires and equipment, including telephone fire alarm call boxes, of the fire alarm system, or cut, damage, remove or displace the poles, arms or other supports upon which the wires and equipment are attached, or throw, draw or carry any rope or wire over the wires of the fire alarm system.

86-40 False fire alarms.
No person shall intentionally or willfully turn in or make or cause to be turned in or made any false alarm of fire in the city.

86-41 Riding on fire apparatus.
No person except firefighters and city officials shall ride on any fire apparatus to and from fires in the city.
