REQUESTING AND RECEIVING
IDENTIFYING INFORMATION FROM THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION

8.40.010 Purpose.
The ordinance codified in this chapter is enacted pursuant to Public Law 92-544, 86 Stat. 1115 (1972) and NRS 239B.010(1)(a), to allow for the exchange of identifying information for licensing and permitting purposes between the Humboldt County sheriff’s department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 8.40.020 Submission of fingerprints.
Any applicant, or its employees or volunteers, who applies for a license or permit for any of the categories listed below, and is subject to a Federal Bureau of Investigation background check, in Humboldt County, Nevada, shall submit a complete set of fingerprints to the Humboldt County sheriff’s department, along with the appropriate fees. Once the Humboldt County sheriff’s department receives the fingerprints, it shall request background and personal history from the Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to NRS 293B.010(1)(a):
A. Hawker or peddler;
B. Canvasser or solicitor;
C. Locksmith;
D. Safe-keeper;
E. Liquor license;
F. Concealed weapons permit;
G. Medical personnel;
H. Educational personnel;
I. Daycare personnel;
J. Clergy members of any denomination;
K. Individuals working with explosive materials;
L. Taxicab services;
M. Amusement, entertainment and recreation licenses;
N. Charitable solicitation licenses;
O. Tent shows, circuses and outdoor festival licenses;
P. Traveling merchant licenses;
Q. Outdoor assembly and festival licenses;
R. Occupations having any form of contact with children; and
S. Occupations having any form of contact with the elderly.
The results of the Federal Bureau of Investigation background check submitted to the Humboldt County sheriff’s department must be handled in accordance with Public Law 92544, 86 Stat. 1115 (1972). (Ord. 10-20-08)
