5.12.040 State license required--Penalties.
5.12.010 Defined.
All person, firms or corporations hereafter engaging in, conducting or carrying on the business of installing wires or equipment within the city to convey electric current or installing apparatus to be operated by such current shall, for the purpose of this chapter, be known as electrical contractors and shall be subject to this chapter. (Ord. 294 §1, 1950).
5.12.040 State license required--Penalties.
A. No license shall be issued to any person, firm or corporation to engage in the business of installing wires or equipment within the city to convey electric current or installing apparatus to be operated by such current until they have secured from the state the licenses and permits required by the state and, before any license is issued by the city, the applicant for such license shall present satisfactory proof to the recorder of the city that the applicant has complied with and obtained such licenses and permits from the state and, upon payment to the city of the license fee provided herein, the city shall issue its receipt therefor, which receipt shall constitute the license of the city for such business for the term for which the tax thereon shall be paid.
B. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to the general penalty. (Ord. 1716 §5, 1995; Ord. 294 §4, 1950).
