In all local improvement street and alley assessment district proceedings, the public improvements to be constructed shall include a provision for street lighting at locations prescribed by the manager in accordance with a street lighting plan approved by the manager. The design and type of lights shall conform to standards adopted by the planning commission. [Code 2000 § 3.305.]
12.20.020 City option.
If the city elects to have the street lights installed by Portland General Electric Company or its contractor and rent the monthly use of the street light or lights, the cost of improvements within the local improvement assessment district shall include an amount equal to the cost of each street lighting unit, as determined by the manager, which shall be assessed against the abutting and benefited owners of property within the assessment district as a cost equivalent to the actual cost of construction of the street lighting unit.
