SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS WITHIN THE CITY

6.20.010 Prohibited.
No private citizen shall slaughter or kill animals and/or domesticated livestock within the confines of the city of Culver. [Ord. 23-03 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023.]
6.20.020 Defined.
“Slaughter” and/or “killing animals” is defined as putting the animals to death and does not include butchering, meat cutting and/or preparation of domestic and/or game meat for consumption. [Ord. 23-03 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023.]
6.20.030 Exceptions.
This chapter shall not apply to any licensed and/or commercial slaughter or butcher that maintains facilities inside the city limits for the purpose of butchering and/or slaughtering animals. [Ord. 23-03 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023.]
6.20.040 Applicability.
This chapter shall apply to the slaughtering of cattle, horses, swine, sheep, goats and any other livestock, including any game as defined by Oregon law. [Ord. 23-03 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023.]
6.20.050 Violation – Penalty.
Any person violating any provision of this chapter may be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000. [Ord. 23-03 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023.]
