LOITERING NEAR COUNTY JAIL (effective until December 31, 2024)

9.10.010 Loitering on County property near the Josephine County Jail.

A. The Board of Commissioners hereby directs the Sheriff of Josephine County, Oregon, to post signs prohibiting trespass or loitering on or about the grounds surrounding the Josephine County Jail or conferring with prisoners incarcerated in said jail.

B. Said Sheriff is hereby instructed to arrest anyone who disobeys said notices, or any unauthorized person, or persons, who in any way trespass or loiter on or about the grounds surrounding said jail, or who attempt in any way to confer with prisoners incarcerated in said jail.

C. The Josephine County District Attorney is to prosecute all cases of persons charged with violation of this chapter.

D. Anyone violating this chapter shall be punished upon conviction by imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than six months or by a fine of not more than $250.00, or both. [Ord. 12-7-66; Res. 8-16-63.]
