ANNEXATION

1.12.010 Fee--Required.
Before land is hereafter annexed to the city there shall be paid to the city an annexation fee of three-fourths cent per square foot of the total area of the land proposed to be annexed as set forth in this chapter.

1.12.020 Fee – Exemptions.
The annexation fee will not be applied to the following types of land which may be included in annexation proposals:
A. Floodways;
B. Greenways;
C. Park lands that are dedicated to the city and accepted in writing by the city;
D. Existing roads (this exception does not apply to proposed roads except as hereinafter stated);
E. Proposed roads where the city finds that such roads are not primarily needed for the development of the land to be annexed and the city council elects to not impose the annexation fee.

1.12.030 Funds use.
The funds paid to the city pursuant to this chapter shall be used only for capital improvements and only after determination by the council as to the allocation of the funds.
