12.15.010 Placement of numbers.

There shall be a uniform system of numbering buildings within the city of Rainier, by placing over or near the front entrance of said buildings the number assigned thereto as hereinafter provided, which numbers shall be increased by two numerals for each 25 feet of frontage in each block. The figures designating the number, whether printed or otherwise placed thereon, shall not be less than three inches in height. (Ord. 599, 1949; Ord. 416, 1925; Ord. 392 § 3, 1923)

12.15.020 Assignment of numbers.

Odd numbers shall be given to buildings on the east and north sides of the streets, avenues and highways and even numbers to those on the west and south sides of streets, avenues, and highways. The first building on the north side of those streets running east and west in said city and west of Harrison street shall be numbered one and the first building on the south side of said streets shall be numbered two, and shall increase 100 numbers for each block. The first building east of Harrison Street on the north side of said streets shall be numbered one, and the first building on the south side of said streets shall be numbered two, and said numbers shall increase 100 numbers for each block.

The first building south of A Street on the east side of those streets running northerly and southerly shall be numbered one and shall increase 100 numbers for each block. The first building south of A Street on the west side of those streets running northerly and southerly shall be numbered two and shall increase 100 numbers for each block. (Ord. 392 § 4, 1923)

12.15.030 Damaging street name signs.

Any person defacing, destroying, or tearing down any sign or board placed at any street intersection for the purpose of designating the name of such street or streets, shall upon conviction in the municipal court be fined not less than $5.00 nor more than $50.00. (Ord. 392 § 5, 1923)
