Chapter 17.13
ALLOWED USES IN RESIDENTIAL ZONES
Sections:
17.13.020 Planning commission determination.
17.13.010 Purpose.
This chapter outlines the land uses allowed within the R-E, R-1, and R-2 zones, as well as any other zones intended to facilitate residential activities. While the subsequent zone chapters also explicitly state which uses are allowed in their respective zone, this chapter aims to illustrate the difference in allowed uses throughout all residential zones with easy-to-read tables. [Ord. 23-418-O § 124 (Exh. A-4)].
17.13.020 Planning commission determination.
When doubt emerges as to whether a proposed use is similar to one allowed within a zone, the planning commission shall produce a finding in accordance with Type III procedure, determining whether the proposed use is consistent with an already allowed use or the overall intent of the zone. [Ord. 23-418-O § 124 (Exh. A-4)].
17.13.030 Table legend.
For purposes of interpreting the following allowed use tables, the following legend can be used.
P = Permitted
CU = Conditional Use
S = Permitted, but subject to special standards
A = Permitted, but only as an accessory use to another allowed use
N= Not permitted
[Ord. 23-418-O § 124 (Exh. A-4)].
17.13.040 Special standards.
For any use in the following table marked with an “S” the use is allowed provided it meets all the special standard criteria. The special standards for the use can be found within their respective zoning chapter, under the “special use standards” section.
