The city may sell from irrigation water rights owned by it, or hereafter acquired, irrigation rights for any lot or parcel of land within the city, for such price and on such terms as may be fixed by the council. No person shall use water from the city system for the irrigation or sprinkling of lawns, garden or tract without first having paid to the city recorder the annual irrigation charge for such year. Having a hose, or other irrigation or sprinkling device, attached to a water outlet shall be deemed conclusive evidence of use of water for irrigation purposes. When, in the judgment of the authorized city representative or proper city official, it may be necessary to restrict the use of water for irrigation purposes, the city may require that no hose shall be used for irrigation or sprinkling purposes without a nozzle attached, and no hose larger than three-fourths inch or with an opening of more than one-half inch shall be used. [Ord. 91 § 22, 1976. Code 2002 § 13.16.010].

13.20.020 Suspension of irrigation.

The council may suspend the right to irrigate or sprinkle whenever, in the opinion of the council, a public emergency may require it. [Ord. 91 § 23, 1976. Code 2002 § 13.16.020].

13.20.030 Irrigation season.

Notice of the commencement of irrigation season and the termination thereof shall be given annually by the city recorder by publication of a written notice in a newspaper published in the county promptly upon the determination of each of such dates. No water shall be used for irrigation or sprinkling of lawn, garden or tract except during such irrigation season and the council may establish hours for the use of water for irrigation of lawns and other irrigation purposes to conserve the water supply or to furnish ample pressure. [Ord. 91 § 24, 1976. Code 2002 § 13.16.030].

13.20.040 Sprinkling system.

Sprinkling system may be installed in or upon any property, but not to exceed seven heads of water for any such system shall be turned at any one time, no head to have a connection exceeding one-half inch. [Ord. 91 § 25, 1976. Code 2002 § 13.16.040].
