The city of St. Helens police department will respond to alarms without charge except as herein provided. (Ord. 2626 § 1, 1991)
3.16.020 False alarm response fees.
A fee shall be charged the tenant, owner or other person in charge of the premises for each false alarm, exceeding two within any 12-month period, to which the police department responds by sending police officers to investigate. A fee will be charged for each false alarm, of four or more, in any 12-month period. The fees described herein shall be as set forth in the most recent universal fee schedule adopted by council. 3.16.030 False alarm definition.
For purposes of this chapter, a “false alarm” shall be defined as the discharge of an alarm system which is caused by the intentional misconduct or negligent act of the owner, tenant or other person in charge of the premises upon which the alarm is located, or by the mechanical malfunction of the alarm system.
