APPOINTMENT PROCESS

2.27.030 Posting of positions.
2.27.010 Definitions.
“Statutorily appointed” shall mean any position designated in Chapter 2.17 EMMC, Appointed Officers. [Ord. O-30-2022 § 2 (Exh. A)].
2.27.020 Appointment.
Unless otherwise designated, the mayor shall appoint all advisory board members, statutorily appointed officers, and planning commission members with the advice and consent of the city council. [Ord. O-30-2022 § 2 (Exh. A); Ord. O-05-2021 § 2 (Exh. A). Formerly 2.27.010].
2.27.030 Posting of positions.
Notice of all empty or expiring advisory board, statutorily appointed, or planning commission positions shall be posted on the city web page, or other method suitable to provide notice to the public, for a minimum of 10 days. The notice shall include a description of the position and provide details for the submission of an application or resume for the position. 2.27.040 Notice to council.
Not less than three days prior to publicly noticing the possible appointment or reappointment of any person to an advisory board, statutorily appointed, or planning commission position, the mayor shall provide to each member of the city council the name, and application or resume if available, of each person the mayor is considering appointing to an advisory board, planning commission, or statutorily appointed position. Members of the city council may individually provide the mayor with feedback or recommendations regarding each potential appointment. [Ord. O-30-2022 § 2 (Exh. A); Ord. O-05-2021 § 2 (Exh. A). 2.27.050 Removal.
