2.60.010 Establishment of department.

There is hereby established a water and sewer department. It shall comprise all of the property, equipment and personnel necessary to the maintenance and operation of the city’s culinary water and sewage collection and disposal systems. The department shall administer the operation and maintenance of the city’s water and sewer systems. [Rev. Ord. 1945 § 308; Code 1988 § 9-2-1.1].

2.60.020 Superintendent – Appointment duties and powers.

There is hereby created the position of water and sewer superintendent. Said position shall be filled by appointment of the mayor with the advice and consent of the city council. The superintendent shall manage and supervise the activities of the water and sewer systems under the direction of the city council. Said council, from time to time, may, by resolution or otherwise, more fully prescribe his powers and duties and direct the manner and frequency with which he shall make reports to the mayor relating to the system.
