PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD

To facilitate the purposes stated hereafter, there is hereby established a board designated as the Helper City parks and recreation board. The board shall consist of not less than five and not more than nine members. One member shall be a city councilmember to be designated by the mayor, with the remaining members to be appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the city council. All members of the board shall reside within Helper City with the exception of one member who may reside outside of the city.
All members of the board shall serve without compensation except for reasonable expenses which are approved in advance by the mayor. [Ord. 2008-4. Code 1988 § 2-13-1].
2.90.020 Purpose of the parks and recreation board.
The parks and recreation board is established and organized for the following purposes:
A. To advise the mayor and city council regarding improvements and maintenance of existing recreational facilities.
B. To suggest to the mayor and city council new recreational facilities and activities for Helper City residents.
C. To assist Helper City, when requested by the mayor and city council, in securing funding for potential recreational infrastructures. [Ord. 2008-4. Code 1988 § 2-13-2].
