10.05.010 Adoption of uniform traffic code.
The contents of Utah Traffic Rules and Regulations published in book form prepared by the Utah Department of Public Safety, effective date July 1, 1987, as presently constituted together with the following statutes of the state of Utah as therein contained, printed and published, to wit:

or as they may be hereafter amended, three copies of which have been filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the city recorder, are hereby approved and adopted as the code laws for this municipality except as such code may be altered or modified by this title, in which case the provisions of this title may be controlling. 10.05.020 Definitions contained in code.
Unless the context otherwise requires, all references in the above referenced Title 41, Chapter 6, Utah Code Annotated 1953, shall be as follows:
“Department of Public Safety of the State of Utah” shall mean the chief of police of this municipality or his agents.
“Local authorities” means the governing body of this municipality.
“Magistrate” shall mean the justice of the peace or judge of this municipality.
“State Road Commission” or “State Department of Transportation” shall mean this municipality and its officers, departments, agencies, and agents. [Ord. 88-40 § 2, 1988; Ord. 87-34 § 11-04-002, 1987.]
10.05.030 Prima facie speed – Designated streets.
(1) When appropriate street signs giving notice of the maximum permitted speed thereon are erected, the prima facie speed limits designated in the appropriate appendix of this code shall apply to the appropriate streets listed therein.
(2) Unless otherwise provided in this chapter or in any other ordinance of this municipality, the prima facie speed limits on the streets of this municipality shall be 35 miles per hour. [Ord. 88-40 § 3, 1988; Ord. 87-34 § 11-04-003, 1987.]
10.05.035 Speed limits designated.
(1) The maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour for vehicles is established on 1900 East from 1500 South to 2000 South.
(2) The maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour for vehicles is established on:
(a) 2000 East from 500 South to 2500 South;
(b) 2500 South from 1500 East to 2300 East;
(c) 500 South from 1500 East to 2000 East.
(3) The maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour is established on the city’s portion of 500 South from 1500 East to 1000 East (city boundary). [Ord. 87-37 §§ 1, 2, 3, 1987.]
10.05.040 Angle parking.
Angle parking shall be permitted upon the streets or parts of streets described in the appropriate appendix of the ordinance codified in this chapter. The chief law enforcement officer shall mark or sign such streets or parts of streets and also indicate the angle of such parking. [Ord. 88-40 § 4, 1988; Ord. 87-34 § 11-04-004, 1987.]
10.05.050 Through streets designated.
Those streets and parts of streets described in the appropriate appendix are hereby declared to be through streets. [Ord. 88-40 § 5, 1988; Ord. 87-34 § 11-04-005, 1987.]
10.05.060 Authority to erect stop or yield signs.
Whenever any ordinance of this municipality designates and describes a through street, it shall be the duty of the chief law enforcement officer or the superintendent of streets to place and maintain a stop sign or, where safety and efficiency require at any intersection, a yield sign on each and every street intersecting such through streets unless traffic at such intersection of a through street and a heavily traveled street, stop signs shall be erected at the approaches to either street as determined by the chief law enforcement officer and on the basis of an engineering and traffic study. 10.05.070 Stop intersections.
The entrances to intersections described in the appropriate appendix of the ordinance codified in this chapter are hereby declared to be stop entrances. The chief law enforcement officer or the superintendent of streets shall erect and maintain a stop sign at all stop entrances to intersections. [Ord. 88-40 § 7, 1988.]
10.05.080 Yield intersections.
The entrances to intersections described in the appropriate appendix of the ordinance codified in this chapter are hereby declared to be yield entrances. The chief law enforcement officer shall erect and maintain a yield sign at all yield entrances to intersections. [Ord. 88-40 § 8, 1988.]
10.05.090 Vehicular traffic within the city parks.
No traffic by motor vehicles shall be permitted in the city parks of Naples City except upon those roadways and parking areas which are or shall be established by the city and shall be appropriately posted. The provisions of this section shall not apply to construction or maintenance equipment performing work in said park by or under the direction of Naples City. [Ord. 88-40 § 14, 1988.]
10.05.100 Snow season.
The snow season is from November 1st to March 31st. It is prohibited to park a vehicle upon a public street when snow has accumulated on the street. It is also prohibited to park a vehicle upon a public street during snow season between 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. If a vehicle is parked in violation of this section and is interfering with snow removal operations, then a police officer has the power to have the vehicle removed at the expense of the owner.
During snow season, the owner or any occupant of a house, lot or building must remove all snow and ice from the public sidewalk on or abutting their property and any public street within 24 hours of cessation of snowfall. Use of de-icer that is safe to use on concrete or sand is required when applicable. No person shall deposit any snow or ice on a public street, sidewalk, gutter, right-of-way, or neighboring property without permission of the property owner. [Added during 2013 codification.]
10.05.110 Penalties.
Any person who shall violate any provisions of this chapter except violations of Title 41, Chapter 6, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended, shall be guilty of an infraction notwithstanding other language or provisions to the contrary in the said statute or statutes. All violations of Title 41, Chapter 6, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended, shall be and constitute crimes or violations as therein in said statute provided.
