REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY

2.63.010 Existence and powers of redevelopment and housing authority.
There exists and shall continue to be the Staunton redevelopment and housing authority, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, which shall have all the powers as provided by general law of the Commonwealth of Virginia, including the power to operate housing projects, and be governed by commissioners. (Ord. 2021-18).
2.63.020 Number of commissioners.
The number of commissioners, to be appointed by the city council, shall be up to nine, with terms of office as provided by general law of the Commonwealth of Virginia. (Ord. 2021-18).
2.63.030 Election of chair and vice chair.
The commissioners shall elect a chair and vice chair as provided by general law and any bylaws adopted by the commissioners. (Ord. 2021-18).
2.63.040 Annual report.
The Staunton redevelopment and housing authority shall prepare and file at least annually, on a fiscal year basis, a report with the clerk of council, who will transmit a copy of the report to members of council and to the city manager. The report shall have been approved by vote of the commissioners of the Staunton redevelopment and housing authority and provide a description of the activities for the preceding year, including a financial statement and other information consistent with the requirements of general law of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
