FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS

2.13.010 Findings and determinations.
The City Council finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City to provide limited financial assistance and/or lodging to individual volunteer firefighters who offer firefighting services to the City. (Ord. C-484, 2001; Ord. C-339, 1995)
2.13.020 Firefighter services.
Volunteer firefighters serving the City Fire Department may be provided limited financial assistance and/or lodging for the following services:
A. Response to EMS calls;
B. Response to fire, motor vehicle accidents or hazardous material calls, on scene or stand-by;
C. Attendance at scheduled training meetings;
D. Day crew duties, which shall be approved by the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief or, in their absence, officer of the day appointed by the Fire Chief. (Ord. C-484, 2001; Ord. C-339, 1995)
2.13.030 Policies and procedure.
The limited financial assistance and lodging including the manner and amount of reimbursement or assistance provided shall be determined by the City Council. (Ord. C-484, 2001; Ord. C-339, 1995)
2.13.040 Volunteer relationship.
Nothing contained in this chapter shall be held to create an employment relationship between the City and its volunteer firefighters. (Ord. C-484, 2001)
