CONTRACTOR USE OF CITY HYDRANTS, METERS AND BACK-FLOW PREVENTERS

15.30.010 Statement of purpose.
It is customary for the city of Asotin, Washington, to allow a contractor to hook up to a city hydrant, meter and back-flow preventer for a temporary supply of bulk water. (Ord. 13-767 § 1, 2013)
15.30.020 Hydrant, meter and back-flow preventer use fee.
The contractor/builder shall be required to pay a $325.00 nonrefundable fee in order to use the city’s hydrant, meter and back-flow preventer to obtain a temporary source of water. No other bulk water meter or back-flow device shall be used other than that supplied by the city of Asotin. (Res. 19-653, 2019; Res. 19-651, 2019; Ord. 13-767 § 2, 2013)
15.30.030 All tanks.
Tanks that carry bulk water shall have a two-inch air gap before water enters the tank. (Ord. 13-767 § 3, 2013)
15.30.040 Bulk water fees.
Bulk water fees shall be $1.50 per 100 cubic feet or 748 gallons of water as read and reported by the city’s maintenance supervisor through the city’s bulk use water meter only. (Res. 19-653, 2019; Res. 19-651, 2019; Ord. 13-767 § 4, 2013)
15.30.050 Storage tanks.
If a storage tank is used for loading tankers at a city-owned site for more than a 24-hour period there will be a $20.00 a day fee assessed. (Res. 19-653, 2019; Res. 19-651, 2019; Ord. 13-767 § 5, 2013)
15.30.060 Nine percent utility tax.
A nine percent utility tax is assessed on excess water usage. (Ord. 13-767 § 6, 2013)
15.30.070 Agreement.
A bulk hydrant water meter agreement must be signed with the city of Asotin before proceeding with obtaining water from the city of Asotin. (Ord. 13-767 § 7, 2013)
