CONTINUITY OF TOWN GOVERNMENT

In the event that the mayor is unavailable or is incapacitated by reason of enemy attack or natural disaster and unable to exercise the powers and discharge the duties of the office, then the following elected officials shall, in the order listed, act on behalf of the mayor:
(1) Mayor pro tempore;
(2) The most senior town councilmember;
(3) The remaining town councilmembers, in order of continuous seniority. [Ord. 366 § 1, 2009]
2.40.010 Town councilmember unavailable or incapacitated.
In the event a member of the town council is unavailable or is incapacitated by reason of enemy attack or natural disaster and unable to exercise the powers and discharge the duties of the office, then those remaining councilmembers available for duty shall have full power to act by majority vote of those present. In addition, the remaining available councilmembers shall have the authority to appoint replacements to fill vacancies on the town council created by such circumstances. [Ord. 366 § 2, 2009]
