1.16.010 Misdemeanor defined – Penalty.
Any person who fails to perform any act required by any ordinance of the city or who performs any act forbidden by any such ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor unless such act or omission is designated as an infraction or gross misdemeanor. A misdemeanor shall be punishable by imprisonment for a maximum term of not more than 90 days, or by a fine in an amount not in excess of $1,000, or both. 1.16.020 Gross misdemeanor defined – Penalty.
Any act or omission designated as a gross misdemeanor shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 545B § 1, 1994; Ord. 545 § 2, 1984; Ord. 462A § 2, 1981; Ord. 462 § 2, 1977).
1.16.030 Failure to appear – Penalty.
Anyone who fails to appear in response to a citation for a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor violation of this code, or who fails to respond to a notice of infraction by either paying the penalty and/or demanding and attending a hearing, shall, in addition to any other penalties provided by law, be guilty of an infraction and shall be assessed an additional penalty of $52.00.
