8.16.010 Setting off explosives – Permit required.

It is illegal to set off any charge of dynamite, blasting powder or other explosives of this character, unless first having obtained a permit, which permit shall be issued by the city police chief at no cost. This permit shall not excuse the recipient thereof from any damages which may occur from such permit having been issued. (Ord. 8 § 3, 1949).

8.16.020 Outside fires – Permit required when.

No outside fires shall be permissible during the months of June, July, August and September unless a fire permit has been procured from the fire chief of Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 22 and/or the police chief, which permit shall in no way hold the city liable for any damage which may occur from the permit having been issued. (Ord. 851 § 8, 2000; Ord. 8 § 4, 1949).

8.16.030 Burning refuse.

The burning or disposal of refuse, sawdust, or any other material without a permit when permits are required is declared to be a misdemeanor. (Ord. 454 § 3(19), 1977).

8.16.040 License issuance authority of clerk and chief of police.

Licenses for the city shall be procured from the city clerk, or as may be provided in this chapter, upon the deposit of the required fees. The police chief shall be the ex officio license collector. (Ord. 8 §§ 1, 2, 1949).

8.16.050 Violations declared misdemeanor.

Any person or persons found guilty of violating this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. 8 § 6, 1949).
