SANITARY SERVICE FRANCHISES

5.28.010 Granting authority.
The city shall have the right and authority to grant franchise for the collection of, and hauling and disposing of, garbage and trash. The franchise is in addition to a business license that may be required under Chapter 5.01 CRMC. [Ord. 2019-01 § 2 (Exh. A), 2019].
5.28.020 Duration – Nonexclusivity.
Any such franchise shall be for a period of not more than two years and shall be nonexclusive. [Ord. 2019-01 § 2 (Exh. A), 2019].
5.28.030 Fee.
The city shall be paid by said franchise holder a sum equal to, but not less than, three percent of the gross receipts collected by said franchise holder for services performed for residents of the city. [Ord. 2019-01 § 2 (Exh. A), 2019].
5.28.040 Terms and conditions – Approval required.
The terms and conditions of such franchise shall be first approved by the city council prior to the granting of such franchise. [Ord. 2019-01 § 2 (Exh. A), 2019].
