7.18.010 Prohibited where—Exception.
It is unlawful to ride, lead, or be in possession of a horse upon the arterial or through streets; in parks frequented by large number of pedestrians; alleys, sidewalks, public squares or any private property other than that of the owner of the horse; or where the horse is boarded; or where the owner of the property has given his consent; provided this section shall not apply when the horse is being transported in or on a motor vehicle or when such horse is being ridden in the course of, and as a part of, a parade; or when the owner or rider thereof has obtained a permit to ride the horse in the city of Centralia. 7.18.020 Manure removal required when.
Any rider who may lawfully ride or lead a horse on any street not described as an arterial or through street shall be responsible for cleaning up and removing any manure that may be deposited by such horse on the street or public way as quickly as is reasonably possible. Failure to so remove and clean up manure shall constitute a violation of this chapter. (Ord. 2151 § 1 (part), 2005: Ord. 1683 § 8 (part), 1989: Ord. 1347 § 3(4)(b), 1976).
7.18.030 Riding permit.
Any owner or rider of a horse may obtain a permit from the chief of police or his authorized representative to ride a horse in the city of Centralia for the purpose of transporting the horse for participation in a horse show, fair, or other similar event. Said permit shall be effective only until twelve p.m. of the day issued. (Ord. 2151 § 1 (part), 2005: Ord. 1683 § 8 (part), 1989: Ord. 1347 § 3(4)(c), 1976).
