2.31.030 Duties.

(1)    The CCACAC’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

(a)    Applying for grants from the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment and other sources to fund projects that will improve awareness, acceptance, inclusion, and access for people with disabilities.

(b)    Advising Clark County policymakers on the needs of persons with disabilities in general and in emergency plans.

(c)    Advising the county and other jurisdictions within the county on access to programs, services, and activities, new construction or renovation projects, sidewalks, other pedestrian routes of travel, and disability parking enforcement.

(d)    Developing local initiatives and activities to promote greater awareness of disability issues, and acceptance, involvement and access for persons with disabilities within the community.

(e)    Passing issues related to the missions of other county committees to them, including ending community homelessness (ECHO) and the developmental disabilities advisory board.

(2)    An employee of Clark County shall be appointed by the county manager as staff liaison to the CCACAC. That individual is expected to attend all meetings of the CCACAC, as would a regular member, and to provide current information for the website. (Sec. 4 of Ord. 2024-07-01)
