2.57.040 Selection—Payment of members—Quorum.
(1) The community action advisory board shall consist of twelve (12) members who shall be appointed by the county manager and confirmed or rejected by the county council. Additional voting member(s) may be added if the advisory board determines there is unrepresented population(s) currently not represented on the advisory board.
(2) The membership of the community action advisory board shall be representative of the community. At least one-third (1/3) of the members shall be appointed in accordance with federal law using procedures adequate to assure that they are representative of households who are low income in the area served. Where possible, one-third (1/3) of the members shall be elected public officials or their representatives and one-third (1/3) of the members shall be representative of community interests. Members shall also be representative of geographic regions of the county.
(3) The members shall not be compensated for the performance of their duties, but may be paid subsistence rates and mileage in the amount authorized pursuant to RCW 36.17.030 or as hereafter amended.
