3.20.080 Use of surcharges collected.

The funds collected through the surcharge imposed by Section 3.20.060 shall be used solely for family services. The department of community services is authorized to contract with one or more family support centers to provide such family services. As used in this section, the terms “family services” and “family support centers” shall have the following meanings:

(1)    “Family services” shall include, but not be limited to, services such as:

(a)    Resource information and referral;

(b)    Parenting classes;

(c)    Child care;

(d)    Child development activities;

(e)    Health screening;

(f)    Educational activities;

(g)    Social and recreational activities with a child or family focus;

(h)    Support and discussion groups;

(i)    Outreach services;

(j)    Domestic violence prevention and intervention services.

(2)    “Family support centers” shall refer to nonprofit community-based organizations whose focus is on providing family services. (Sec. 3 of Ord. 1995-12-30)
