8.19.060 Redemption.
Any animal impounded pursuant to the provisions of this title may be redeemed upon payment of the redemption fee as herein provided and upon evidence that the violation has been corrected. The correction of a violation includes, but is not limited to, the licensing of any unlicensed animal required by this title to be so licensed. The redemption fee for an animal includes the costs of apprehension and transportation and the costs of impoundment and care of the animal, including veterinary fees. Any license fees or civil penalties due and owing shall be in addition to the redemption fee. The redemption fee shall be set in accordance with the current contract agreement with the animal shelter. All charges are billed to the owner even if the animal is not reclaimed.
