16.12.015 Operation of seaplanes on Vancouver Lake, Lacamas Lake, and Lake Merwin.
(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to taxi a seaplane in excess of twelve (12) miles per hour on the named waters of Clark County except during training, takeoff and landing, or when safe and prudent operation requires otherwise. Seaplanes shall not exceed a slow no-wake speed within one hundred (100) feet of any shoreline, pier, breakwater, person in the water, boat launch, log sorting area or established moorage, regardless of the speed otherwise authorized on a particular body of water.
(2) Seaplanes operating on the waters of Clark County shall maintain a minimum of two hundred (200) feet of lateral separation between the seaplane and other vessels except when safety considerations for the seaplane and/or other vessels make a smaller lateral separation prudent.
(3) Seaplanes shall take off and land at least five hundred (500) feet from shore except when safety considerations and lateral separation from other vessels require otherwise.
(4) Seaplane operators shall not wilfully fail or refuse to comply with the direction of a peace officer who is at the time discharging the duty of regulating and directing waterborne traffic. (Sec. 1 of Ord. 1996-07-22)
