24.16.040 Representative areas for members.

The membership of the commission shall be allocated on the basis of the following:

(1)    One member representing the Vancouver city council, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1989;

(2)    One member representing the councils of the remaining cities and towns in Clark County, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1990;

(3)    One member representing public interest groups, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1989;

(4)    One member representing the Clark County business community, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1991;

(5)    One member representing the solid waste management industry within Clark County, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1991;

(6)    One member representing the citizens of north Clark County, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1990;

(7)    One member representing the citizens of southeast Clark County, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1990;

(8)    One member representing the citizens of southwest Clark County, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1989; and

(9)    One member representing the citizens of Clark County at large, whose initial term is to expire September 30, 1991.

All members shall reside within Clark County. The member representing the business community shall own or be employed by a business located in Clark County; the member representing the waste management industry shall be employed by a company involved in the waste management industry located in Clark County; the member representing the citizens of north Clark County shall reside north of 179th Street or the extension thereof; the member representing the citizens of southwest Clark County shall reside south of 179th Street and west of State Highway 503 or the extension thereof; and the member representing the citizens of southeast Clark County shall reside south of 179th Street and east of State Highway 503 or the extensions thereof.
