EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COUNCIL

2.50.010 Established.
A. The Columbia County emergency medical services council is established with functions to be:
1. Identify the local emergency medical services system needs.
2. Identify and assess local resources.
3. Coordinate the resources and services within the county.
4. Develop the appropriate county system for provision of emergency medical services.
5. Provide a forum for public discussion on an emergency medical services system.
6. Identify funding sources for emergency medical services system implementation.
7. Identify primary service areas for aid and ambulance services.
8. Develop mutual aid agreements.
9. Coordinate public education efforts.
10. Coordinate county activities within the region.
11. Coordinate county activities with counties in surrounding areas.
B. Said council’s membership shall be composed of representatives from consumer groups, physicians, local government, fire departments, emergency services, health departments, law enforcement, ambulance services, nurses’ associations, the communications industry, and hospitals.
C. Said council shall be annually appointed and shall function at the pleasure of the board, and shall report the activities of the council to the board at reasonable times. [Res. 77-23.]
