2.20.010 Appointment – Generally.

The office of city treasurer is made an appointive position. (Prior code § 1.14.010).

2.20.020 Appointment – Authority.

The city treasurer shall be appointed by the mayor, and such appointment shall be confirmed by a majority of the city council. (Prior code § 1.14.020).

2.20.030 Appointment – In writing.

The appointment shall be in writing, signed by the mayor, and filed with the city clerk. (Prior code § 1.14.040).

2.20.040 Removal from office.

The person so appointed may be removed by the mayor. (Prior code § 1.14.030).

2.20.050 Duties.

The duties of the city treasurer shall include the investment of city funds and the city treasurer shall have the authority to invest funds on behalf of the city, without further consent of the audit committee. (Ord. 880 NS, 1982).
