8.16.010 Exposing poisons unlawful.
It is unlawful for any person to lay out or expose any kind of poison, or any kind of poisoned food, drink or substance dangerous to man, animal or fowl, or any substance or fluid whatsoever whereon or wherein there is deposited or mingled any kind of poison or poisonous or deadly substance or fluid whatsoever, on any street, alley or other public place or on the premises of another or in any place not enclosed by close, tight fence or wall in the city, or to aid or abet any person in so doing. (Prior code § 9.20.010).
8.16.020 Limitations.
Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed as applying to the use of sprays, washes, powders or other substances used and applied as insecticides in the usual and customary manner for the control and eradication of insect pests. (Prior code § 9.20.020).
8.16.030 Reward for reporting violations.
The mayor is authorized, when in his discretion he deems it expedient to do so, to offer a reward of not to exceed $50.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person violating the provisions of this chapter, the reward to be payable from the current expense fund of the city. (Prior code § 9.20.040).
8.16.040 Violation – Penalty.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment for any period not exceeding 90 days or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Prior code § 9.20.030).
