COASTING ON HILLS

Cedar Street between Third Avenue and Fifth Avenue in the city is designated as a coasting hill. (Prior code § 10.10.010).
10.20.020 Regulation of usage of hill.
The periods when the hill is to be used for coasting, and the posting of the same, shall be under the regulation and supervision of the police department. (Prior code § 10.10.020).
10.20.030 Petitioning for designation of a coasting hill.
Other streets or avenues within the corporate limits of the city may be designated as coasting hills by the following outlined procedure:
A. Persons desiring that a street or avenue be designated as a coasting street may petition the city council setting forth in the petition location of desired coasting signs, requested designation of parking areas, portion of the street they desire snow to be removed from, if any, and portion of street to be sanded, if any.
B. The petition must be signed by 80 percent of the property owners abutting the desired street and accompanied by a sketch illustrating the items set forth in the petition. (Prior code § 10.10.030).
