2.95.010 Filing of declaration and affidavit of candidacy.
Anyone desiring to become a candidate for any elective office for the town of Coulee Dam, Washington, shall file a declaration of candidacy and an affidavit that he or she is not a subversive person, as required by RCW 9.61.100, and file the same with the town clerk not more than 60 nor less than 46 days prior to the election. 2.95.020 Declaration and affidavit of candidate – Form.
Such declaration of candidacy and the accompanying affidavit shall be in the following form:

I, _______________________ (please print name) declare upon honor that I am a registered voter residing at No. ___________ street _____________________, city or town of _________________, county of ____________, state of Washington, and am legally qualified to assume office if elected; that I hereby declare myself a candidate to the office of __________________ or position No. _______ for the office of _______________ (fill in whichever blank is applicable) to be elected at the town general election to be held on the _____ day of _____, (year) and hereby request that my name be printed upon the official ballot, as provided by law, and I accompany herewith the sum of ___________ dollars, the fee required by law of me for becoming a candidate.
AFFIDAVIT
FURTHER, I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution and laws of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the state of Washington; that I do not advocate the overthrow, destruction, or alteration of the constitutional form of the government of the United States or of the state of Washington or any political subdivision of either of them, by revolution, force or violence, and that I do not knowingly belong to any organization, foreign or otherwise, which engages in or advocates the overthrow, destruction or alteration of the constitutional form of government of the United States or of the state of Washington or any political subdivision of either of them, by revolution, force or violence. _______________________ (Please print name to assure correct spelling)

2.95.030 Filing fee.
Each declaration and affidavit of candidacy shall be accompanied by a filing fee equal to one percent of the annual salary of the office for which the declaration is being filed; provided, however, that no filing fee is required in the event that the office sought is without compensation. (Ord. 111 § 3, 1969)
2.95.040 Withdrawal of candidacy.
Any candidate may withdraw his declaration at any time up to and including the first Friday after the last day allowed for filing declarations of candidacy. (Ord. 111 § 4, 1969)
2.95.050 Duties of the town clerk.
The town clerk shall file in his office a certified list of candidates and submit a certified list thereof to the auditors of the counties involved not less than 35 days before the town election.
It shall be the duty of the county auditors to provide places for holding the municipal general election to appoint the precinct election officers; to provide for their compensation; to provide ballot boxes and ballots, poll books and tally sheets, and deliver them to the precinct election officers at the polling places; and to publish notices of said election; provided, that in all elections in which the county auditor has no responsibility by law to conduct said election, the same shall be conducted by the town clerk, unless otherwise provided by special resolution or ordinance. 2.95.060 Persons precluded from filing a declaration of candidacy for more than one office.
No person may file a declaration of candidacy for more than one office. (Ord. 111 § 6, 1969)
