INTERFERENCE WITH FIRE
FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

9.05.010 Prohibited acts.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, except members of the volunteer fire department, at the time of any fire:
(1) To fail to drive to the curb at the signal of the fire engine siren, and to afford to the fire fighting equipment the right-of-way;
(2) To follow behind the fire fighting equipment, with any automobile, truck or other vehicle at a distance nearer than 300 feet;
(3) To drive over any hose or other fire fighting equipment with any auto, truck or other vehicle;
(4) To park any auto, truck or other vehicle within 600 feet of the place of any fire;
(5) To be within the fire area as established by the fire chief or fire marshal, unless requested by a member of the volunteer firemen or other officer to render assistance;
(6) To interfere in any manner whatsoever with the work of the firemen or the fire equipment, or to turn in a false alarm;
(7) When in the opinion of any fireman or officer, a spectator is interfering with the firemen or their work, to fail to remove to a place beyond the fire area, upon request. (Ord. 42 § 1, 1960)
9.05.020 Violation – Penalty.
Every person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed a disorderly person and guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300.00, or by imprisonment for a period of not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and the payment of the costs of the prosecution.
