9.20.010 Dangerous – Threatening.
It is unlawful for any persons in the city to carelessly, recklessly or in a dangerous or in a threatening manner exhibit or handle any gun, pistol, revolver or other firearms or to discharge any such firearms within the corporate limits of the city. (Ord. 24 § 1, 1893).
9.20.020 Concealed.
It is unlawful for any person in the city to carry or have in his possession while on the streets or in any public building or place in this city any deadly weapon concealed from public view. (Ord. 24 § 2, 1893).
9.20.030 Slingshots.2
It is unlawful for any person to have on or about his person or to carry about any slingshot, air gun or other similar device, within the corporate limits of the city. (Ord. 95 § 1, 1903).
9.20.040 Hunting and target rifles – Exemption from state law.
(a) Hunting and target rifles have been carried responsibly and openly on rifle racks by our citizens for many years and the city council finds no reason why this practice should be stopped.
(b) RCW 9.41.050 has been amended by ESHB 2319, adding a subsection (4) to prohibit the carrying of rifles openly in a vehicle which would end this common practice.
(c) A new subsection (6) of RCW 9.41.050 empowers the city council to exempt the city of Davenport from the prohibition set forth in RCW 9.41.050(4).
(d) The jurisdiction of the city is and shall be exempt from the prohibitions set forth in RCW 9.41.050(4) as presently enacted and as may be hereafter modified or recodified. This exemption is enacted pursuant to RCW 9.41.050(6). (Ord. 744, 1994).

This section has been changed to comply with Ordinance 346 which was repealed by Ordinance 393.
