Litter

6.02.020 Deposit of litter prohibited.
6.02.010 Definition.
Litter shall include any abandoned or discarded paper, wood, metal, glass or organic material except the following:
(a) Material placed in a lawful refuse container for further disposition;
(b) Material placed in a location lawfully designated for refuse or garbage disposal;
(c) Grass and other plant clippings or cuttings deposited as an unavoidable incident to gardening or farming on adjacent or nearby premises;
(d) Signs;
(e) Material deposited by any public agency or any individual acting under the authority thereof. (Ord. 137 § 2, Dec. 12th, 1973).
6.02.020 Deposit of litter prohibited.
The deposit of litter on any street, alley or other public property within the City of DuPont, except in conformity with this chapter, is prohibited. Any person violating the prohibition herein contained is a disorderly person. (Ord. 137 § 1, Dec. 12th, 1973).
6.02.030 Civil penalty.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $500.00. (Ord. 98-607 § 1).
