Vacation benefits shall accrue to all nonelective city employees at the same rate and according to the same standards for length of service and maximum benefits accrued as are stated in the current union contract for city employees and in future union contracts established by negotiations between the city and union employees. (Ord. 1078 § 1, 1973; 1958 Code § 1.60.020).
2.80.030 Time off required.
It is the purpose to give each employee, officer or official of the city, who has been continuously employed by the city for one year or more, a vacation with pay as set forth above but not to pay the wages in lieu of their failure to take advantage of the vacation as offered unless it has been impractical or impossible for the employee, officer or official to take the vacation. (1958 Code § 1.60.030).
