All real property gifts to the city must be accepted or rejected by the city council. (Ord. 3290-12 § 1, 2012)
2.105.020 Gifts of personal property, services, and money.
A. Small Gifts. Department heads are authorized to accept or reject gifts to the city of personal property, including money, with an estimated value up to ten thousand dollars. The department head will notify the mayor, or the mayor’s designee, within a reasonable time of any significant gift that has been accepted or rejected.
B. Large Gifts. All gifts to the city of personal property, including money, with an estimated value over ten thousand dollars must be approved by the city council. The mayor is authorized to conditionally accept or reject such gifts. The mayor shall report to the city council, either verbally or in writing, all items conditionally accepted within thirty days of acceptance and council shall, by motion, approve or reject the mayor’s acceptance.
C. Library. All gifts of personal property, including money, to the library shall be accepted or rejected as provided for in RCW 27.12.210 and 27.12.300. (Ord. 3290-12 § 2, 2012)
