TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS BUREAU

2.36.010 Created.
A violations bureau to assist in the processing of traffic cases and to receive the posting of bail and to accept forfeitures of bail is created. (Prior code § 1.72.010)
2.36.020 Transfer of bail and receipts.
The violations bureau shall transfer daily to the clerk of the proper department of the court all bail posted for offenses where forfeiture is not authorized by court order, as well as copies of all receipts. (Prior code § 1.72.020)
2.36.030 Placement of moneys in funds.
All forfeitures paid to the violations bureau for violation of the city ordinances shall be placed in the city general fund or such other fund as may be prescribed by ordinance. (Prior code § 1.72.030)
2.36.040 Failure to appear or post bail—Penalty.
It is unlawful to wilfully fail to appear or post bail at said violations bureau within the time set on a traffic citation on which a person has made a written promise to post or appear. Violations hereof shall be a misdemeanor punishable in a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars or imprisonment for not to exceed six months in jail or both such fine and imprisonment.
