SALE OF TIMBER ON CITY UTILITY PROPERTY

3.72.030 Disposition of funds.
3.72.010 Schedule of sales.
The utilities division of the department of public works shall prepare a schedule of sales of timber on city property. Although the size, location, and terms of said sales shall be planned to comply with the Jackson Project Wildlife Management Plan and to maximize profit to the city, the primary and overriding policies in the administration of said sales shall be to protect the quality of the city’s water supply. Accordingly, award of a sale shall be made to the highest bidder demonstrating the most experience and the best record in water quality protection: including erosion control, site cleanup and rehabilitation, sanitation, etc. (Ord. 1741-90 § 1, 1990)
3.72.020 Call for bids.
Council shall by resolution authorize the call for bids, notice of which shall be advertised once a week for three consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the city and elsewhere as determined by the administration. The last publication shall be at least twenty but not more than thirty days before the date of bid opening. The notice shall describe the property on which the timber is located and state the time and place at which it will be sold or offered for sale, the terms of sale, fix the conditions thereof and shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids. 3.72.030 Disposition of funds.
Funds derived from said timber sales shall be deposited in Fund 401 to be used for water quality improvements. (Ord. 1741-90 § 3, 1990)
3.72.040 Sales contracts.
Sales contracts pursuant to this chapter shall include terms and conditions which will protect the interests of the city, and a bond may be required to secure performance. (Ord. 1741-90 § 4, 1990)
