13.04.010 Base or level datum established.

There is established a base or level datum for the city for reference in establishing the grades of the various streets, avenues, alleys, utilities and public places within the limits of said city, which said base or level datum is an assumed horizontal plane situate below four certain benchmarks which are established at the points hereinafter designated and at the elevations above said base or level datum hereinafter set forth:

One on the north side of the campus of Everett Community College, 30.2 feet northeast of the northeast face of building 300 (Science Building), 37.5 feet east of the northeast corner of the building, 26.5 feet south of a cyclone fence bounding the college and a golf course, a standard C & G S triangulation disk stamped “JAYCEE 1967” and being 205.11 feet above the said base or level datum; one about 330 feet northeast of and along the Burlington-Northern Railroad Station on the north side of Hewitt Avenue, in the top and 1.4 feet north of the south edge of the south end of the east concrete abutment, 5.2 feet east of the west edge of the abutment, 8.7 feet southeast of the southeast rail of the upper tracks, about 7.5 feet higher than Hewitt Avenue and 4 feet lower than the track, a standard C & G S disk stamped “4 1934” and being 135.23 feet above the said base or level datum; one at the South Junior High School near the southwest corner of the intersection of Rucker Avenue and 35th Street, in the north concrete wall of the building, 1.5 feet west of the northeast corner of the building, 31.0 feet south of the south curb of the street, 1.7 feet above the ground, set flush vertically on side of wall, a standard C & G S bench mark disk stamped “S 296 1947” and being 273.46 feet above the said base or level datum; and one at about 500 feet west and 200 feet north of the intersection of 76th Street S.W. and Upper Ridge Road in South Everett, 15 feet north of a fence enclosing a water tank reservoir, 70 feet northeast of the northwest corner fence post and 100 feet northwest of the northeast corner fence post, a standard C & G S triangulation station disk set in the top of a concrete post projecting 0.3 foot above ground stamped “BEVERLY 1941” and being 717.77 feet above the said base or level datum; the exact location of each of said benchmarks is indicted by a cross “X” or dot cut upon the surface of the various objects above designated.

13.04.020 Grades and elevations to be taken from fixed base or datum.

All grades and elevations that shall hereafter be fixed and established for the various streets, avenues, alleys, utilities and public places within the limits of said city, shall be fixed and established with reference to, and be described in feet and in feet and decimals of a foot above, the said base or level datum herein created, described and established.
