5.01.010 Businesses and amusements – License required.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to conduct or carry on any of the businesses, occupations or amusements herein provided for, within the corporate limits of the City of Everson, without first obtaining a license therefor as herein provided. The licenses and fees required under this chapter are separate from, and in addition to, the business license and fee provided for under Chapter 5.02 EMC, as stated in EMC 5.02.010(C), and which business license may also be required when applicable.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation holding a retail license authorizing the sale of beer or wine for consumption on premises in the City of Everson to permit or allow upon the premises licensed any dancing whatsoever without first procuring from the City Clerk a license for such dancing according to the terms of this chapter. 5.01.020 Businesses and amusements – License application.

All licenses shall be issued by the City Clerk upon application therefor, the Clerk being hereby authorized to issue the same in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. [Ord. 815 § 1 (Exh. A), 2020; Ord. 4 § 2, 1929.]

5.01.030 Businesses and amusements – License fee – Prorated.

No license herein provided for shall be prorated or issued for a less period than one year. [Ord. 815 § 1 (Exh. A), 2020; Ord. 4 § 15, 1929.]

5.01.040 Businesses and amusements – License term.

The license year shall be the calendar year and no license shall be issued for a longer period than one year. [Ord. 815 § 1 (Exh. A), 2020; Ord. 4 § 4, 1929.]

5.01.050 Businesses and amusements – License display.

All such licenses so issued by the City Clerk shall be by the licensee conspicuously displayed in the place of business of which the same was issued. [Ord. 815 § 1 (Exh. A), 2020; Ord. 4 § 16, 1929. Formerly 5.01.180.]

5.01.060 Businesses and amusements – Violations.

All such licenses shall be issued subject to the laws of the State of Washington and the ordinances of the City of Everson whether now or hereafter enacted, and may be revoked by the City Council for any violation of such laws and/or ordinances by the holder thereof. 5.01.070 Businesses and amusements – Penalties.
