9.11.020 Criminal contempt.

A person shall be guilty of criminal contempt by wilfully committing one or more of the following acts:

A. Disorderly, contemptuous or insolent behavior committed during the sitting of the Fife municipal court or the Fife city council, in its immediate view and presence and directly tending to interrupt its proceedings or to impair the respect due to its authority;

B. Breach of the peace, noise or other disturbance directly tending to interrupt the proceedings of the Fife municipal court or the Fife city council; or

C. Refusal to be sworn or affirmed as a witness before the Fife municipal court or before the city council; or, after being sworn or affirmed, unlawful refusal to answer any question legally posed unless one is invoking the U.S. Constitutional Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. 9.11.030 Penalties.

Criminal contempt is a gross misdemeanor. (Ord. 1266 § 4, 1997).

9.11.040 Unlawful practice of law.

RCW 2.48.180 is adopted by reference. A violation of this section, that is not designated as a felony by state statute, is hereby declared to be a gross misdemeanor. (Ord. 1461 § 1, 2002).
