CITY MANAGER

2.14.060 Authorization to edit code.
2.14.010 Established.
Pursuant to RCW 35A.13.010 and 35A.13.090, there is hereby established the position of city manager. Such office shall be appointive and all appointments to such office shall be made by the city council. (Ord. 1389 § 6, 2005; Ord. 883 § 1, 1988; Ord. 519 § 1, 1965).
2.14.020 Appointment – Term.

2.14.030 Duties.
The city manager shall be the chief executive officer and head of the administrative branch of the city government. The city manager shall be responsible to the council for the proper administration of all affairs of the city. The city manager shall be eligible to attend all meetings of the city council, regular and executive, unless excused. The city manager shall be the chief purchasing agent of the city and shall have such purchasing and contracting authority as provided by ordinance. The city manager shall have all the powers and shall perform each and all the duties specified by Chapter 35A.13 RCW, together with any other duties or authority which may be conferred upon such office by the city council or by the laws of the state of Washington pertaining to city managers, or the ordinances of the city, as they now exist or may hereafter be amended. 2.14.040 Compensation.

2.14.050 Combination with other appointive position.

2.14.060 Authorization to edit code.
(a) The city manager or designee is authorized to edit the city code.
(b) The city manager or designee shall provide for a uniform style and form of the municipal code by making minor corrections to ordinances submitted for filing which do not affect the sense, meaning, effect or substance of any ordinance.
(c) Such changes are subject to the approval of the city attorney and include renumbering, relettering, changing capitalization or punctuation, dividing provisions of the code into smaller sections and correcting omissions or captions.
(d) The city manager or designee may substitute a current title of a committee, department, bureau or commission to accord with changes of titles or duties enacted by law. (Ord. 1012 § 1, 1992).
