PROPERTY TAX FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

3.32.010 Imposition – Rate – Expiration date.

In order to provide the revenue to pay the costs of providing emergency medical care and services and to maintain reserve funds sufficient to assure the continuation of such services, the city of Fircrest imposes each year for a period of six consecutive years, beginning in 1986, a general tax on taxable real property within the city, in addition to the regular levy for maintenance and operation costs, in an amount equal to $0.25 per $1,000 of assessed valuation of such property. (Ord. 828 § 1, 1985).

3.32.020 Use of funds.

In accordance with Chapter 200 of the Laws of 1979, First Extraordinary Session, funds raised by such levy shall be used only for the provision of emergency medical care and services, including related personnel costs, training for such personnel, and related equipment, supplies, vehicles and structures needed for the provision of emergency medical services. (Ord. 828 § 2, 1985).
