2.56.010 Created – Appointment of members.

Pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 13 of the laws of 1937 of the state, and pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 31 of the Session Laws of 1935 of the state, there is created a civil service commission of the city. The commission shall be composed of three members who shall be appointed by the mayor of the city, serve without compensation, and have such qualifications, powers and duties as are prescribed and required by Chapter 13 of the Session Laws of 1937 of the state and Chapter 31 of the Session Laws of 1935 of the state. The terms of such commissioners shall be for a period of six years, staggered so that the term of one commission member shall expire on December 31st of each even-numbered year. 2.56.020 Statute adopted.

RCW 41.12.010 to RCW 41.12.220, and RCW 41.08.010 to RCW 41.08.220, inclusive, three copies of which are on file in the office of the city clerk, are adopted by this reference by the city, and all of the details and provisions of said sections are made a part of this chapter as fully as if set forth in full and incorporated herein. 2.56.030 Rules and regulations.

The civil service commission shall adopt such rules and regulations as are necessary and proper to carry out the purposes of this chapter. Copies of all such rules and regulations shall be filed with the city clerk and shall not be effective until so filed. Rules and regulations shall be subject to review by the city council.
