GENERAL PENALTY

1.16.010 Penalties for acts that constitute a crime.

The penalties for acts that constitute a crime under the Granite Falls Municipal Code shall be the same penalty as the penalty prescribed for that crime by state statute as authorized under RCW 35.21.163. [Ord. 853 § 1, 2013; Ord. 537, 1995.]

1.16.020 General penalty – Infraction.

Unless otherwise specified, all offenses committed within the meaning of this code shall be deemed infractions. An infraction committed within the meaning of this code, unless otherwise specified, is punishable by a fine not exceeding $250.00. [Ord. 853 § 1, 2013.]

1.16.030 Other penalties – Misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors.

Conviction of a misdemeanor under this code shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000 and/or by incarceration for a period of time not exceeding 90 days. Conviction of a gross misdemeanor under this code shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $5,000 and/or by incarceration for a period of time not exceeding 364 days. [Ord. 853 § 1, 2013.]

1.16.040 Violation – Each day a separate offense.

Any person violating any of the provisions of or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of this code shall be guilty of an offense. It shall be a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of this code is permitted, committed or continued by any person. [Ord. 853 § 1, 2013.]
